Garden Art

This Garden is a labour of love. Image above was taken from Helicopter, but the garden is large enough and is visible from space. These images show the Garden at 3 years of age and time will help unfold it in all its splendour. The upper part in the image shows the first 'room' with a covered entertainment area. All around the first plants to go in were Hibiscus, filled up with Golden Cane Palms. The outer left top contains Alexander palms, midsize Magnolias and some natives. A wide range of smaller bushes and flowers fill in the gaps. The central 'room' is guarded by two large lions, chiseled from vulcanic rock. It contains 12 statues on pedestals (the outer circle), between each is a Cuban Royal Palm, which will eventually tower very high. A small water feature in the centre, surounded by 13 small lions (inner circle) set off with different coloured gravel. The largest circle has Gardenia bushes. Bottom of image shows 'room 3', which features a larger pond and a single statue on high pedestal. Each side off it a large pot containing The outer walls are made up of walls of Golden Cane Palms, the left side frames with a long hedge hard against the Palms. Two Canary Island Palms frame the pond. Behind the pond is an arc of Cuban Royals. The long line on the right has alterating palms, Majestics and Triangulars. The curve to the right has alternating Pontiana trees and Poinsettia bushes.

One enters the Garden from a long walkway facing a spiritual statue. Halfway down, a covered arc leads into the garden. Whysterias and Jasmin and many other climbers provide a wall of perfume to get into room 1.

Views at some of the statues. It took about a year to find them all.

The left image is 'room1'. Behind is a fair size dam that supplies irrigation water to all sections of the garden. Valves control which is to be watered.
